Let a Lawyer Do the Talking to Your University
It's recently come to my attention that a lot of college-aged kids are struggling with the remote instruction demands that universities are placing on them during the quarantine period.
I know of a number of young people who have already been hauled in front of academic tribunals — and some of them even expelled — due to a failure to turn in work, participate in lessons, complete course materials, and just maintain grades.
People need to know that, just as you would bring in a lawyer to decide whether or not you should pay a fine for a traffic violation, you should be represented at these academic proceedings.
A skillful attorney can really turn things around for you. Even a private university has an obligation to provide you, as a student, with a certain degree of due process. I've participated in a number of such tribunals through the years.
Better to hire an attorney to make your case, to review the evidence, and to really represent your interests before the university and its representatives.
