New Practice Areas
The implications of the pandemic are still winding their way through the federal courts. Judging from the results of this past year — in which we successfully defended our undefeated status — it seems that the panic of coronavirus has not been as impactful on the special education community as we thought.
If the coronavirus can't stop the people from getting reimbursed, then nothing can.
At the present moment, I have yet to get confirmation of any federal case law that's going to significantly change that, which is part of the reason why we're going to be expanding the field of our practice.
Any professional needs to keep honing their skills, or they'll get complacent. Complacency breeds sloppiness. We've been doing special education law for such a long time, with such consistent results, that I’ve gotten just a bit too comfortable for my liking. If I allow myself to start “going through the motions,” that's when mistakes can start to be made.
Through development and expansion into new territories, we can keep the passion that motivates us to be great at what we do. With that in mind, Gottlieb & Wang LLP will be expanding into the very closely associated areas of immigration, discrimination, and higher education law.
It will be some time before you see us making headlines in these areas, because we want our expansion to be slow and deliberate. Nevertheless, we’re underway. It is important to us, as professionals, that more underserved populations receive the benefit of our determination and skill.
