Our Practice: Client-Centric, Transparent, and Accessible
Marc and I opened the doors to our firm in March of 2017. The goal was simple: create a client-centric, transparent, accessible practice with low case loads and high flexibility.
This is the only way to provide elite service. By staying small, keeping overhead low, and not employing support staff, we have the time and focus to pursue our cases in the ways in which we feel is best for our clients. We are incredibly deliberate and thoughtful about which cases we take on to ensure that we have ample time to go to trial, if needed.
Increased Accessibility
One of the things that we pride ourselves on is accessibility to our clients. We make every attempt to follow our 24-hour rule: to respond to any client’s correspondence within that specific time frame. In addition to being legal counselors, we are also advisors and are available to talk through difficult situations that may arise at any time, thereby reducing our client’s anxiety and potential missteps.
For example, there are instances in which a staff member from the DOE may reach out to a client with a question. If we do not help our clients in time, the response given may not be optimal for their case, goals, and strategy. By remaining in close contact throughout our work with clients, we are consistently crafting their case which makes them better candidates for settlement (or litigation, depending on the client’s preferences).
A Passion Project
Our choice of practice speciality is not random. Both of our parents are professors in the field of special education, and issues within the field were part of daily conversations during our childhood. In addition, we have several family members with learning disabilities. Our dream is to help parents and give back to the community that we grew up learning about. Advocacy is incredibly important, which is why we strive to perfect an imperfect system that often fails people with special needs.
Our practice structure truly allows us to be agents of change — by serving our clients zealously on a micro level and applying pressure to large-scale organizations within the special education system on a macro level.
