One of the things Marc and I love most about our jobs is the ability to connect directly with parents at speaking engagements. I’m pleased to announce two events coming up in the near future.

New York City Parents’ Primer for Dyslexia for School Aged Children, Including Rising Kindergartners

At this event, I will be answering questions like:

  • How does the severity of a child's disability affect their right to services and reimbursement?

  • What are some things a parent should have before meeting with a special education lawyer?

  • Does a child need an IEP to get a reimbursement for a private school?

  • What is the difference between a Connors seat and a Carter seat at a private school?

  • Does a parent have to sue the DOE for reimbursement every year?

  • If a parent is suing for reimbursement, how long should they expect tuition money to be out of their account before they get reimbursed?
